Hair Gel on my rug, and How to make Empanadas, the lazy way.

This my friends, is the kind of stuff boys do, well my little guy anyway!! I walk in the bathroom, (a couple weeks ago) and find this.
Naturally I screamed, at the top of my lungs like a mad woman, and then, almost fainted, and then came to terms that my rugs were probably ruined, erghhh.....

Yay, sigh, I know. Come back tomorrow to see if I was able to save these rugs.

BTW, here's the culprit, supposedly cleaning up his dinos, ummm, I think he's just relocating them to another room, to make a mess there. Pretty clever way to transport a hundred dinos.

Now on to my recipe, he he.
I have been wanting to make some homemade empanadas for a while, I love them, but didn't want to make the dough, from scratch for whatever reason, OK, laziness, :)
So I had found a bunch of recipes that just called for pie dough from the store. You know the kind that comes rolled up.... yay, that one. Alright then, lets proceed.

One pack of mushrooms - diced
2-3 chillies - minced
One onion - diced
4-5 cloves garlic - minced

Saute all of the above
Add One pound organic beef
Brown everything together
Add some flavor
1 tsp garlic pdr
1/2 tsp chilli pdr
1/2 tsp onion pdr
1 tsp vegeta
1/2 tsp cumin
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp garam masala
salt, pepper
1/4 cup milk
BROWN, and cook, everything until it's yummy.

Then clearly, cut your round pie dough in half.
Stuff half with the meat filling, sprinkle some cheese,
fold it over, poke it a few times, crimp those edges with a fork, and stick it in a hot oven, say 425, that should do.

This is the yumminess that happened, after all that, they sure LOOK GOOD don't they!!!!

In the mean time, have cutie patuti daughter make brownies for everyone, YAYYYY!!!

Again, look at that, flaky, gooey, and oh so smelly good. I still have not taken a bite, ohhh somebody please help me.

It started snowing, again, stop, go take a picture, and still not taken a bite, of that dinner, I have been waiting oh YEARS to make, ok, not years but FOREVER.

In the end......
I must say, I DO NOT LIKE pie dough, AT ALL. Especially not the kind you buy at the store, it had such a chemically taste, and I hated it. Other than that, SERIOUSLY this filling was GOOD,,, REALLY, really, REALLY good.

SO next time, I MUST MAKE MY OWN DOUGH, and my godmother has just the recipe, made with lard and all, just perfect, and OHHHHH SOOOOO GOOOD, yes, I know, because I actually like that one, he he.

THE END!!

  2. Three things:
    1. I love garam masala and never would have though to put it in empanadas.
    2. You can make pie dough really easy in a food processor.
    3. Sorry about your carpet.

My photo
In my spare time I enjoy cooking, and baking. In fact my mother and I have been making cakes for over 30 years. I also love gardening, traveling, and all things crafty. I struggle daily to keep my like organized, along with my never ending battle to keep the house clean. I adore my three kids MOST of the time, and can usually be found doing the mom thing from morning till night. I try to catch a few mommy moments, but those are hard to find in this wonderful life of mine. I am blessed and happy, and am thrilled you stopped by today :)
