Amaze me August #6 ~~ Features

** Help **
I am quickly approaching my 100 follower mark, and I want to treat you guys to a fun giveaway, BUT I have no idea how to do giveaways. I know it may seem silly, but please tell me what to do guys. I know many of you are way more rocking than me, and are experienced with this. So any help and direction is most welcome.
**HELP AGAIN**
Thanks for your help guys, so far, BUT I actually meant like how do you get people to do giveaways on your blog, lol. I unfortunately don't have anything to give away myself, lol, actually not funny, sad really. I used to paint once upon a time ago, but I have nothing now. So after seeing all the giveways on other blogs I wonder how in the world do I get people to DO giveaways on my blog? Any suggestions. Yeah I know now I'm really pushing it, but I just don't know this part of it, the rest is simple, but getting someome to do a giveaway now that's the tricky part. If you know someone, please send them my way, and I would be so happy.

What a week. I am just thrilled with the response to my parties so far. You guys are amazing, and are coming back many times over to support me, and I can't begin to tell you how nice it feels.

Thank You to all my new followers, participants, and my oldies, who make me happy. I appreciate all of you, and am so lucky to have such great friends.

Here are some of my favorites from last week, which by the way was the biggest so far, with almost 40 entries so far. Pretty cool, if you ask me :).

Ladies please grab a FEATURED button, and display it proudly.

Like I say one day I will actually be directing so much traffic to your blog, you will ACTUALLY thank me, until then I continue to THANK YOU, for your support. It means a lot to me :)

Leah @ Living Life Crafty created a simple, cheap and cute solution to bored kids. My kids love checkers, and tic tac toe. The other side of this game mat is tic tac toe, and you can do any game you like. She also made a small pouch to hold the markers. Then roll it up and you are ready to go. Leahs blog, is really cute, she is very new to blogging, yet has managed to post tons of great projects already. Hey in all fairness to us with kids, she only has a little doggy rigtht now, but still. Go check her out, say hello, and show her some love.
THANK YOU LEAH!!!

Gail @ Can't Stop Making Things created yet another fabulous trinket all by herself. She really can't stop making things, and luckily treats us to a new project every week, as promised by her in her opening line on her blog. She has TONS of great projects, and for the most part, they all require very little expertise to accomplish, thanks to her incredible way of explaing the process to us. Go check her out, if you haven't already, she is tons of fun, and VERY creative.
THANK YOU GAIL!!!!

Lucy @ Lucy Designs is one of those blogs, that once you find, you don't know how you did without. I literally went through each and every one of her posts, no kidding, and loved each and every one of them. I was in la la land, looking at her creativity, and funky flare. Her designs, are exactly what I think I would like, and don't have in my home. How I wish she lived next to me, and I could stop by her home and drive her crazy but starring at her as she creates masterpiece after masterpiece, and one day I would be able to do something even half as fabulous as her. Can you tell I LOVE her blog.
THANK YOU LUCY!!!!

Kendall @ Songbirds and Buttons went literally crazy stenciling one fine day, while laundry was piled high, and chores were waiting to be done, lol. It was so funny reading her post, becuase I have so been there, just one thing leads to another and you just can't stop. She managed to stencil a few things, and made them really cute. She is also new to blogging, and I love finding all these great blogs. New talent, and fun.
THANK YOU KENDALL!!!!

Michelle @ Emerald Cove is just awesome. I did a little shout out to her today, for blessing me with an award a couple weeks ago. She is one of those friends, who pops in to see what you've been up to, and always leaves a sweet little message to show you she cares. I love her blog so much, it is awesome. She has made her home so relaxing, that even as a guest reading her blog, you feel all cozy, and comfy. It's pretty cool. You need to go check it out, to see exactly what I mean. This locker she made is so cool, and the whole tutorial is wating for you to see.
THANK YOU MICHELLE!!!

Heather @ The Other White House did this cool tutorial on making skeleton leafs. It looks easy enough, and is something that totally caught my eye. I've been to Heathers blog before, her projects are really cool, and I often seem to click on them when browsing parties. Go figure,, lol. She has a great deal of fun ideas, and easy projects. Def worth a look, you will thank me, I promise.
THANK YOU HEATHER!!!

  2. I've never done a giveaway myself but I sure have signed up for lots of them. I don't think it's too difficult for you, just set up a post asking people to comment to win and then use a random number generator (there are some online) to pick a number and whomever's comment matches that number wins. You can even require people to follow your blog in order to enter and double check at the end that the winner does indeed follow. Everyone loves a giveaway so however you choose to do it I'm sure no one will complain!

  5. Hi Bella, I recently did my first giveaway (thanks for entering) and I was a little lost and intimidated so I decided to start close to home and ask personal friends (founders of Ever/After) to be my first one. I actually don't know how you would go about soliciting giveaways for companies that you dont' have a relationship with. Keep me posted on how you decide to move forward. I decided to have the mandatory entry be a facebook like vs a general comment and I did get quite a few add'l facebook followers because of the giveaway. Good luck and thanks for hosting!!!

  6. It's pretty easy. Go look at mine and see what the entries are. Thats all I did is check out others. The one entry I left out and wish I hadn't was to subscribe via email. Make something nice for us to win. :)

  7. How do you find people to host giveaways?

Make a post about it on your blog stating that you are looking for sponsors who would like to give a product away on your blog.

Email other peoples sponsors and ask them.

Companies like doing giveaways because it drives traffic to their site and puts their name out there.

You have to ask for them. Once you have lots of advertising on your blog and have a lot more followers, companies will start contacting you and asking you if you will host a giveaway for them on your blog. But initially when you are just getting up and running you have to ask.

Here's the first giveaway I ever did:

    http://www.houseofhepworths.com/2010/04/04/my-first-giveaway/

I make a decor ball and gave it away. I promoted it everywhere. And I insisted that to enter the giveaway each person had to follow me with Google Friend Connect.

This brought my following numbers a lot higher (I think I went from like 50 to more than 200 or so. I can't remember).

Anyway, how do you promote it?

Here are a few sites that have places on their blog to post your weekly giveaways (to bring more traffic to your site):

    Tip Junkie
    The SITS girls
    Someday Crafts (each Thursday)

    Good luck!

My photo
In my spare time I enjoy cooking, and baking. In fact my mother and I have been making cakes for over 30 years. I also love gardening, traveling, and all things crafty. I struggle daily to keep my like organized, along with my never ending battle to keep the house clean. I adore my three kids MOST of the time, and can usually be found doing the mom thing from morning till night. I try to catch a few mommy moments, but those are hard to find in this wonderful life of mine. I am blessed and happy, and am thrilled you stopped by today :)
