GUEST POST ~ Delicate Construction ~ Easter Egg Birdie Tutorial ~

When I posted THIS POST asking for help, and then sent an email to my blogfy friends, I never expected so many people to respond.I am blessed with wonderful friends, and I had a ton of ladies, who were more than willing to keep you all entertained while I get better, or get some sleep, or paint my garage, whatever, he he. The point is that I am SUPER lucky, super THANKFUL, and SUPER excited to introduce you all to Michelle from
Michelle has a super cool blog. She is super cool mama, and she's now started a super cool party just for kids. Well kids projects anyway, MADE BY LITTLE HANDS, MONDAYS. If you have kiddos you should def check it out. There are tons of great ideas there. She also has this thing on Tuesdays where she gives us 10 uses for everyday items, like coffee filters, or foil. I think that is super cool, I love that kind of thing, and I enjoy those posts a ton. I hope you get a chance to stop by her blog, say hello, and start browsing. The girl has some mad talent, in the craft department, and I'm so happy she is here sharing with us today.

Take it away Michelle, show us what you got!!!

This was my favorite craft I made last season and I thought I would share with all you awesome Bella Before and After readers!!

My name is Michelle and my blog is DELICATE CONSTRUCTION and I love all types of crafts! I am married to an awesome husband; Wade, have a beautiful 13 month old daughter; Avery, and am a full time caregiver to an wonderful young gentlemen with Fragile X (a form of Autism) who lives with us; Scott. While I am constantly busy, I love to find time to make new things, do art with my kids and blog all about it!

But let's get on to the craft!

Here is what you need:

  • Plastic Easter Eggs
  • 2 colors scrapbook paper
  • Rhinestones
  • Glitter
  • Mod Podge
  • Hot glue gun
  • Brush

First, hot glue all the eggs shut by running some hot glue on the inside rim of the egg before closing them. I used blue and yellow eggs because I wanted blue and gold glittered eggs for my finished product, it is helpful if the glitter and the egg color are close in shade.

Second, add Mod Podge to the outside with a paint brush.

Third, sprinkle the glitter on the outside and let dry (yes my Martha Stewart glitter).

Fourth, draw your wings, I used a votive candle and traced half of it on the edge of the back of my patterned scrapbook paper and cut them out.

Fifth, hot glue them on the sides of the dry, glittered eggs.

Sixth, make the beaks by cutting out small triangles on the folded edge of your second piece of scrapbook paper, I chose a solid color for this. Then hot glue them on the bigger end of the egg with the flat side aligned with the flat side of the wings.

Seventh, add rhinestones for the eyes, mine happened to be adhesive rhinestones but use the hot glue gun if needed.

Lastly, display in your home! I have a circular votive holder over my mantle and I always change out votives for some type of seasonal decoration, and I am very happy with the way the birds turned out!

Thanks so much for having me!!

Thank you Michelle, that was adorable!

In my spare time I enjoy cooking, and baking. In fact my mother and I have been making cakes for over 30 years. I also love gardening, traveling, and all things crafty. I struggle daily to keep my like organized, along with my never ending battle to keep the house clean. I adore my three kids MOST of the time, and can usually be found doing the mom thing from morning till night. I try to catch a few mommy moments, but those are hard to find in this wonderful life of mine. I am blessed and happy, and am thrilled you stopped by today :)
