As promised, I will be sharing with you my latest creation. Yesterday I was goofing off, trying new looks for my wreath. Read about that HERE. After about six differnt tries, I still wasn't happy. I was still using 15 year old flowers, dollars store buys, I have been using to decorate my Christmas tree for the past 15 years.
A little about me, I have been living in my own place since I was like 16. Back in California, my parents had a workshop built in our backyard, it was huge, and my dad worked in it. Then when I was 15 my dad passed away, and my mom redid the workshop into a little living space, bedroom, living, kitchen and bath. So I moved into our backyard, and had my own place, still at home though, he he. So naturally I had to have my own christmas tree, etc. I was poor, working at Sears at the time, as a makeup consultant. So I decorated as I could, which meant DOLLAR STORE. Pic n Save, if I remember correctly was another good one. Anyway, since then I have been using the SAME OLD things, and so here we are, like 20 years later (practically) and I still refuse to get rid of these things, because they are still good. Being the TOTAL cheap mama that I am, I will not go buying new things, even if I can.
So keeping with tradition, I simply can't bring myself to buy new things, unless I have no choice. I will find a way to decorate, with what I have.
Alrighty then, so way back then, I bought some poinsettia flowers, and some ribbon, I made bows with. This is what I have been decorating my tree with practically every year.
The ribbons got a new use this time though.
Check out my NEW 20 year old wreath, made with 20 year old ribbon.
What do you guys think now???
