Here it goes, My period story goes like this: When I was in college, I took a watercolor class. In this class we were discussing different additive's artists mix in their paint. (one being semen...uh, yuck!) Anyway, my friend looks at me and says wouldn't it be funny if a woman did that with menstrual blood? Uh, yeah I thought! So I did it. I used my...you know, and made it into paint and made a 3 really beautiful paintings out of it. The funniest part was when my professor
walked up to the watercolor, got nice and close as he was critiquing it and said, "this looks like blood, very interesting!" Those of us who knew just what kind of blood it was laughed our butts off!

Hope that story was not too over the top! I was born without a filter. I loved being pregnant and breastfeeding as I had just over 2 years of no periods (they came back before I'd finished breastfeeding though - boo!).Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8474164823972759270.post-35361497794531983302011-06-16T16:59:13.584-04:002011-06-16T16:59:13.584-04:00What a timely post!!! I just had a d & c yesterday to try to help relieve my heavy flo...still on the pain meds (and feeling pretty good, by the way! :-)) Just so you know you're not alone...I have had a constant period, except for a day or two here and there since Feb 25!! Yea, you read that right. Finally got to the point of needing a transfusion to have something done about it..why? Don't know...too many things going on to take time for me, I guess~!
Anyway, your post made me smile!
Smiles!!
JamiJamihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18315864877847282467noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8474164823972759270.post-41976078338889285592011-06-16T12:34:05.845-04:002011-06-16T12:34:05.845-04:00You are not alone, Bella. Tampons were a joke where my periods were concerned.
I have to say, I had an IUD put in after my last baby and, as far as that part of my womanly self goes, it was the best decision ever. My hormones are regulated. I bloat but not as much. I hardly bleed. I used to get boils on my ovaries when I menstrated, but not anymore. That thing is like a little miracle worker.Stephanie McDonnellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16333987293305674981noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8474164823972759270.post-65013910245172861642011-06-16T12:24:49.855-04:002011-06-16T12:24:49.855-04:00I have to agree with Nicole. Ibuprofen helps me a lot because of it's anti-inflammatory properties.
I use hot water bottles, heating pads, those Therma Care portable heating pads, pills, natural remedies, a dozen hot baths and red wine ( which puts me to sleep ).
At 36 I have the worst periods I've had since I was a teenager.
My mom wasn't really a " hands on " mom and I was really young when I got my first period. I had no idea what was happening to me and thought I was going to bleed to death. It was really scary and painful.
Now that I have a daughter I am very aware of what her life will be like when she gets hers and have started planning out what I will be to her during that time. Thankfully my kids home school so she will be able to be at home and comfortable.Lesleyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17632136097693104604noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8474164823972759270.post-45656499266538902972011-06-16T11:40:28.919-04:002011-06-16T11:40:28.919-04:00A read that you try to stay away from pills and al...A read that you try to stay away from pills and although I don't blame you Ibuprofen is very beneficial while Aunt Flo is in for her monthly visit. It helps the cramping and ***BONUS*** lightens the flow a bit! I usuaally take it every 6 hours on the dreaded second and third flow day to help, especially when I'm at work and must wear khaki pants:(Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13074350693621591856noreply@blogger.com
